I have some wonderful houseplants (most with names even). It being winter, I do not water them as often. Today, I decided that they looked a little thirsty, so I took my own water bottle that I was sipping from and started sharing with them. I spilled water into the two larger ones. Then got another refill for 2 of the smaller ones. When I returned I saw ants crawling all over the top rim of one of my large umbrella trees' pot!

This is not the first time this has happened either! Luckily the last time was worse because the ants were in all of the pots. This time I only found them spewing from one pot. What I do not know at this point is if I need to repot this plant or not. Last time I had to brush the old soil from the root system of the most effected plant (named Pubert).

At the moment, the infected plant (one main umbrella tree with a couple smaller ones and one money plant) is sitting on the front porch. I am a bit worried because I was not very patient and just found some Raid (which I do not like to use) to spray on the scurrying little creatures. I do not know what the result will be on my poor (not so) little plant.

Surprisingly, the last time this happened was also shortly before finals...and at the moment I have a grant proposal to conclude and two short vignettes to finish and I will be DONE with this term! Rockin!

Here they are! Pictures of my packages! I do wish I could master those battery charging spells, but alas I cannot. So I had to wait for them to charge the muggle way! Well here are the fabulous packages I received from my spoiler and my roommate (who thought I needed a fabulous RAOK)
As you can see from the photo, my needles have already found their way into their new home and they are quite happy! What you cannot see if my failed anti-theft charm! Sadly, I cast it incorrectly and when I went to take photographs of my packaged, I discovered a dozen little ants inside the I-scream bar! Sad! You also can't see how few andes mints are inside the package ;)
Check out the stitch markers up close! They look pretty damn good if you ask me. I love the 'S' shaped one that I figure can double as a row marker as well! How cool is that?!?!?
Now for the ROAK...
I seriously wonder if she sent me the package for her spoilee instead...So much great stuff! Now I just need to decide what to make with it all! I can't seem to decide even how I want to die the yarn! and once again some super cool stitch markers! I guess someone told all these folks that I usually just use a paperclip...
Thank so you much ladies! Its all so beautiful and I want to play with it instead of knitting things for Christmas....so I guess everyone who will get a hastily made gift also thanks you ;)
